T-Mobile Sony Xperia Z Review

We’ve worked with it in the past, but on the heels of T-Mobile’s special event, Aaron goes in-depth with the T-Mobile variant of the popular Sony Xperia Z. Available on July 17th for $99 down and 24 payments of $20, the Sony Xperia Z offers a 1.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU, 5-inch 1080p HD display, 13.1-megapixel camera with 1080p HD recording capabilities, 2 GB of RAM, 2,330 mAh battery, and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with Sony’s UI. It’s an awesome addition to T-Mobile’s lineup, and brings Sony’s flagship device to a US carrier. Is it better than offerings from HTC, Apple, and Samsung?

  1. I have had this phone for almost a year now and it is better than the Samsung Galaxy S 4 that everyone is bragging about. My son purchased his Samsung Galaxy through t-mobile with my account help. I figured I had made a mistake in buying the Sony because the reviews for Samsung Galaxy were so high and that phone seemed more impressive by the reviews and by my own personal handling experience. Yet, a man told me Sony is actually better than Samsung Galaxy….and I thought, no?!? I reviewed the two phones and almost chose Samsung Galaxy because of the vividness of picture quality…"it is sharp" and the Sony is impressive but not as sharp. I continued to check functionality of the two phones and was at a cross roads…I told the man…I can't choose one over the other, but the man told me that people were bringing back Samsung Galaxy phones whereas they were satisfied with the Sony as it had a low return rate. The comparison was alarming to the people who were happy with Sony Experia! So, what did I do?  I went with what the man told me…always worrying that I had made a wrong choice and had been duped out of a really good phone. Well, my son has the phone I almost chose and it is inferior in so many ways to my Sony Experia Z. His phone is wonderful in a lot of ways, but I don't like the glitches of his phone…my phone seems to be everything that a former Blackberry user could even dare to get used to. I swore I would go back to Blackberry and it was 'to the shock of many'. Blackberry is a very secure phone and is one of the best in that area. I would not go back to Blackberry, tho it is tempting, my Sony Experia Z has grown on me!. This Sony outdoes most phones, and I love it! My son, on the other hand, complains about his phone glitches(says it won't call out even with wifi calling) and my phone has tons of stuff on it with "no problems"…what does that tell you? The man at t-mobile was correct! Sony Experia Z outdoes Samsung Galaxy S.

  2. i want to purchase a phone like the sony xperia z and then buy a sim card and activation kit and get the 30$ 100min, unlimited text, and 5gb of data plan. Will this phone still be able to get this plan?

  3. I have this phone, for almost 5months now and it sucks, im so bored of it, luckily I have the JUMP program. So I can get rid of this soon. Its boring, I do like the size of the phone, I like the waterproof feature but the speaker messes up, it just has to dry thou. Well my oponion this is a good but boring ass phone. I cant wait to see wht they have in 2014 so I can upgrade! :)

  4. Looks pretty awesome wish it could do multiple apps at the same time like other quad-core phones. Would get it if there wasn't a $500 deposit that you have to pay to get when switching to another provider, at least I think that's with every major phone provider out there.

  5. the loud speaker is meant for notifications and ringers and its good enough for that. people use earphones for music and videos, thats why they dont put alot of emphasis on it

  6. I just bought phone yesterday and it hasn't disappointed yet. Prior to Xperia z, I had the Nexus 4. All I can say is if you are looking for the best android experience pick up the Nexus 4. Xperia is a fun phone and has lots of technical features but it a big price.
